Itinerary
First encounter with the city — and with Gaudí
Flight from Athens to Barcelona. On arrival, a first panoramic drive through the city. We start at Montjuïc and the Olympic Stadium, stopping at the MNAC for a sweeping view over the city, then continue past Plaza España, the Gran Via and the famous Passeig de Gràcia with its "Block of Discord".
Catalan Modernism
After breakfast, a guided tour of two landmarks of Catalan modernism, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. We begin at Lluís Domènech i Montaner's Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, the largest complex of Catalan modernist buildings, and continue with the works of Antoni Gaudí.
Barcelona – Figueres – Girona
Breakfast and departure for Figueres, birthplace of Salvador Dalí. After a beautiful two-hour drive we reach the eccentric painter's theatre-museum — the most visited museum in Catalonia, holding the largest collection of Dalí's work in the world. We continue to medieval Girona.
Return
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Barcelona airport and return flight to Athens.
