Itinerary
Athens – Panama
A flight with one stop. We reach Panama City the same day and transfer to the hotel.
The Emberá people
Our first experience is a journey back in time, to see how the Emberá live in their traditional villages deep in the rainforest.
The flight Panama – San José (Costa Rica)
A one-hour flight to the Costa Rican capital. Free time to visit the Gold Museum and the Mercado Municipal.
Manuel Antonio National Park
Discover Manuel Antonio National Park, one of Costa Rica's foremost destinations, along a scenic route on the Pacific side, with its tropical beaches.
San José – Sarapiquí
We travel by local bus to Sarapiquí, a town known for its rich biodiversity and its deep green rainforest.
Sarapiquí – Puerto Viejo de Talamanca
We transfer to Puerto Viejo, a small seaside town, where our local guide shows us what is worth seeing.
Puerto Viejo & Cahuita National Park
A relaxed day on the Caribbean coast, with the chance to explore Cahuita National Park, easily reached from Puerto Viejo.
Puerto Viejo – Bocas del Toro (Panama)
A local bus to the Panamanian border. After the border check and the old railway bridge, we board vehicles for the transfer to Isla Colón.
Bocas del Toro, a free day
A free day in this Caribbean paradise. Within 8 to 14 km you will find beaches of deep blue water and untouched coral reefs.
Isla Popa & the Ngäbe-Buglé people
In the morning we take a boat to visit the Ngäbe-Buglé on nearby Isla Popa, one of the largest in the archipelago, with its colourful reefs.
Bocas del Toro – Boquete
By boat and bus to the picturesque town of Boquete, in the Panamanian highlands, ringed by mountains, rivers and forest reserves.
Boquete
During your stay in the highlands, pick one of the suggested excursions — the hidden waterfalls only the locals know, for instance.
Boquete – Chitré
Heading south we reach Chitré, capital of Herrera province, on the north-east of the Azuero peninsula. A walk with our guide.
Chitré – the Canal – a guided tour of Panama City
A morning departure for Panama City, stopping first at the Miraflores visitor centre, which overlooks one of the locks that control the Canal. A guided tour of the city follows.
Panama City – the return flight
A free day to rest before the evening flight home. We suggest one of the local shopping centres, such as Albrook.
