Itinerary
Athens – San Francisco
We meet at the airport and fly to San Francisco. Arrival, transfer and check-in at the hotel. The city sits right at the tip of a peninsula, the Pacific to the west.
San Francisco, a guided tour
In 1776 the Spanish were the first Europeans to settle here, naming the city for St Francis. The discovery of gold transformed it. A guided tour of the principal sights.
A free day — optional excursions
A free day to explore the city further. As an option, an excursion to two thoroughly charming towns, Monterey and Carmel — or else to Muir Woods and Sausalito.
San Francisco – Las Vegas
A free morning for the shops or the museums. Market Street cuts diagonally across downtown; south of it lies SoMa. In the afternoon we leave for Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, a guided tour
An introduction to the city that never sleeps. With our guide we walk the famous Strip and visit the landmark sights and hotels.
An excursion to the Grand Canyon & the Skywalk
A road trip to the Grand Canyon, some 12 hours in all. Grand Canyon National Park is among the first national parks in the United States.
Las Vegas – Los Angeles & Santa Monica
A 428 km drive with stops, through country straight out of a Western. We cross the Nevada desert, home of the Mojave people.
Los Angeles, a full-day guided tour
We begin in the historic centre of the City of Angels and the old Spanish mission building, then move on to the city's great sights.
Universal Studios Hollywood
A full day at Universal Studios — the Hollywood we have all seen and loved on screen.
The beaches of Southern California
A full-day round trip. We start at the great international port of San Pedro, once used by Spanish ships, and continue down the southern beaches to San Diego.
Los Angeles – the return flight
Free time, then the transfer to the airport for the return flight.
Arrival in Greece
Arrival in Athens.
